Legion of Myth Membership RanksIn addition to the Civilian Title, Legion of Myth also has a set of Membership Ranks. Everyone who is registered on the site has a Civilian Title; however, not everyone has a Membership Rank. Membership Ranks are provided based upon Guild Membership and/or Legion of Myth support and activity. GUILD MEMBER DESCRIPTION: A Guild Member is someone accepted as a member of one or more Legion of Myth guilds or clans. Membership in a guild or clan is determined by the individual guild’s recruitment policy, which is based upon Legion of Myth ideals and standards. INFORMATIONAL BULLET POINTS:- Guild Members may access the private guild forums and web pages of the guild or guilds in which he or she is a member.
- Guild Members may vote in all accessible polls; not subject to the post count restriction.
- Guild Members may enter Legion of Myth contests; not subject to the post count restriction.
PROMOTION TO GUILD MEMBER:- Read all of the information available on this site regarding the guild.
- Complete the guild application form provided on the Legion of Myth website.
- Complete any other requirements provided by guild policy.
DEMOTION FROM GUILD MEMBER:- In most cases, when a Guild Member loses his or her Guild Member status he or she is still welcome to remain part of the Legion of Myth community-at-large, based upon Civilian Title and Membership Rank.
- A Guild Member may be removed from a guild based upon guild policy.
- A Guild Member may leave a guild by his or her own volition.
- A Guild Member may be expelled from the overall Legion of Myth organization.
- In this case the user will be banned from all Legion of Myth membership and activities.
FULL MEMBER DESCRIPTION:A Full Member is someone who takes an interest in Legion of Myth as a whole, above and beyond any singular aspect of the organization, any one individual guild, or occasionally posting on the forums. Full Members do not have to be Guild Members. Whereas a Guild Member supports his or her individual guild, a Full Member supports the overall Legion of Myth organization. INFORMATIONAL BULLET POINTS:- A Full Member has access and input into all private member-level forums and web pages on the Legion of Myth site.
- Full Members receive many Legion of Myth announcement and update notices prior to the information going public. (i.e. Contest announcements)
- A Full Member is automatically approved for membership into any Legion of Myth guild or clan. The Full Member's application to join any Legion of Myth guild is automatically accepted and approved.
- The Full Member is still required to follow and conform to the rules, standards, and expectations of the guild.
PROMOTION TO FULL MEMBER:- In order to be considered for promotion to Full Member, the member must have (at minimum) attained the Civilian Title of Legion of Myth Resident (100 message board forum posts).
- There are four possible paths to promotion:
- Petition the Legion of Myth leadership to be promoted to Full Member.
- Be invited by the Legion of Myth leadership to be promoted to Full Member.
- Attain the Civilian Title of Legion of Myth Senior Citizen (2,500+ message board forum posts).
- Be accepted as the Guild Leader of a Legion of Myth guild.
- Understand and agree to Full Member's Statement of Understanding.
- I understand that the Full Member position is a privilege.
- I understand that I am to be a positive example to other Legion of Myth members through my constant and consistent activity and good conduct, on the message board forums and in any Legion of Myth guild or clan that I belong.
- I understand that I am to encourage other Legion of Myth members to seek Full Membership in Legion of Myth.
- I understand that I am to make every reasonable effort to take an interest in and be involved with all aspects of Legion of Myth.
- I understand that if I play a game in which Legion of Myth has a guild or clan, I am to join the Legion of Myth guild or clan, and only after exhausting all reasonable options will I avoid or leave the Legion of Myth guild or clan.

DEMOTION FROM FULL MEMBER:- In most cases, when a Full Member loses his or her Full Member status he or she is still welcome to remain part of the Legion of Myth community-at-large, based upon Civilian Title and Membership Rank.
- A Full Member may be demoted due to lack of activity and/or not exemplifying the Legion of Myth Core Values
- A Full Member may step down by his or her own volition.
- A Full Member may be expelled from the overall Legion of Myth organization.
- In this case the user will be banned from all Legion of Myth membership and activities.
GUILD OFFICER DESCRIPTION:A Guild Officer is someone who has first been accepted as a Guild Member then subsequently promoted to Guild Officer within the particular guild or clan in which he or she is a member. INFORMATIONAL BULLET POINTS:- A Guild Officer is an officer within his or her specific guild or clan, but not within the Legion of Myth organization as a whole.
- A Guild Officer has increased access permissions on the Legion of Myth website, including access the private guild officer forums and web pages of the guild in which he or she is an officer.
- A Guild Officer has in-game Rights, responsibilities, and privileges based upon guild policy.
PROMOTION TO GUILD OFFICER:- Guild Members are promoted to Guild Officer based upon guild policy and Legion of Myth standards.
- The only rule that Legion of Myth has regarding any officer position is that it must support a needed function within the guild or clan, and come with actionable and measurable responsibilities.
- We do not support the idea of promoting anyone to an officer position simply as a figurehead or to have an officer title.
DEMOTION FROM GUILD OFFICER: - In most cases, when a Guild Officer loses his or her Guild Officer status he or she is welcome to remain in the guild as a Guild Member.
- In those cases when a Guild Officer loses both Guild Officer and Guild Member statuses, he or she is still welcome to remain part of the Legion of Myth community-at-large - based upon Civilian Title and Membership Rank.
- A Guild Officer may be demoted based upon guild policy.
- Usually this is a result of actions unbecoming of a Guild Officer, not performing up to the standards expected of a Guild Officer, and/or no fulfilling the duties required from the position the officer holds.
- A Guild Officer may step down from the officer position by his or her own volition.
- A Guild Officer may be expelled from the overall Legion of Myth organization.
- In this case the user will be banned from all Legion of Myth membership and activities.
GUILD LEADER DESCRIPTION:The Guild Leader is the individual Guild Officer that is responsible for his or her guild as a whole. All Guild Leaders (and their guilds) are approved by the Legion of Myth Scions and Senior Officers. It is understood that a Guild Leader’s primary concern is for his or her individual guild; however, a Guild Leader is expected to have knowledge of the goings on within Legion of Myth and consider Legion of Myth as a whole in all situations. INFORMATIONAL BULLET POINTS:- Guild Leaders have full operational authority over his or her guild – within Legion of Myth rules, standards, and expectations.
- Guild Leaders may create guild rules, standards, and expectations for his or her individual guild.
- Guild Leaders may recruit, promote, demote, or remove Guild Members and Guild Officers based upon guild policy and Legion of Myth standards.
- Guild Leaders may delegate the authority to recruit, promote, demote, or remove Guild Members and Guild Officers based upon guild policy.
- Guild Leaders may moderate his or her individual Legion of Myth web pages, media pages, and message board forums on the website.
- Guild Leaders may moderate his or her guilds' channels on the Ventrilo server.
- Guild Leaders may assign one or more Guild Officers Ventrilo moderation access as well.
- Guild Leaders are accountable to Legion of Myth through the Scions.
- Guild Leaders have access to the Full Member private forums.
- Guild Leaders are to promote the Legion of Myth community as a whole, and ensure all Guild Members and Guild Officers are registered on the Legion of Myth website
- Guild Leaders are to adhere to all Legion of Myth rules, standards, and expectations, and hold their guild membership to the same.
- Guild Leaders are to periodically (or upon request), provide guild status updates or situational reports to the Legion of Myth leadership.
- Guild Leaders understand and agree to Guild Leader's Statements of Understanding:
- I understand that the Guild Leader position is a privilege.
- I understand that I am to be a positive example to the entire guild and Legion of Myth membership through my consistent activity and good conduct - on the Legion of Myth website, within the guild I lead, and within the game I play.
- I understand that through example and expectation, I am to encourage other Guild Members to be active within the Legion of Myth community.
- I understand that I am to make every reasonable effort to take an interest in and be involved with all aspects of Legion of Myth, above and beyond the guild I lead.
- I understand that if I play any other game in which Legion of Myth has a guild or clan, I am to join the Legion of Myth guild or clan, and only after exhausting all reasonable options will I avoid or leave the Legion of Myth guild or clan.
PROMOTION TO GUILD LEADER:- Express intent to lead a guild in a particular game.
- Present an initial draft plan representing the guild’s Purpose, Mission Statement, Background Lore, and Hierarchy.
- Identify a minimum of five Legion of Myth members who plan to join the guild.
- Receive a minimum simple majority preliminary approval vote from the Senior Officers.
- Receive a minimum two-thirds final approval vote from the House of Scions.
DEMOTION FROM GUILD LEADER:- In most cases, when a Guild Leader loses his or her Guild Leader status he or she is welcome to remain in the guild as a Guild Officer or Guild Member.
- In those cases when a Guild Leader loses Guild Leader, Guild Officer, and Guild Member statuses, he or she is still welcome to remain part of the Legion of Myth community-at-large - based upon Civilian Title and Membership Rank.
- A Guild Leader may be removed by the Legion of Myth leadership.
- Usually this is a result of actions unbecoming of a Guild Officer, not performing up to the standards expected of a Guild Officer, and/or no fulfilling the duties required from the position the officer holds.
- Removal requires that the removal action receives a minimum two-thirds preliminary approval vote from the Senior Officers.
- Removal requires that the removal action receives a minimum two-thirds final approval vote from the House of Scions.
- A Guild Leader may step down from the Guild Leader position by his or her own volition.
- A Guild Leader may be expelled from the overall Legion of Myth organization via the same removal method presented above.
- In this case the user will be banned from all Legion of Myth membership and activities.
 SENIOR OFFICER DESCRIPTION:Senior Officers are the day-to-day leaders of the Legion of Myth organization.
A Senior Officer is someone who has been previously accepted as a Full Member then, based on the Full Member's dedication, loyalty, and overall exemplification of Legion of Myth Core Values, has been subsequently promoted to Senior Officer in order to fulfill a needed role and responsibility to the Legion of Myth organization. Senior Officers are dedicated and loyal to Legion of Myth though good times and bad, and they always strive to improve and grow the community through commitment, activity, and dedication. In military terms, Senior Officers are the Generals (or Navy Admirals) of Legion of Myth. INFORMATIONAL BULLET POINTS:- Senior Officers are always active within the overall Legion of Myth organization, as well as whichever guild(s) or clan(s) in which they belong.
- A Senior Officers is responsible for needed function within the Legion of Myth organization, and performs the duties of that area of responsibility to the best of his or her ability.
- Senior Officers are to provide positional status updates or situational reports regarding the area of responsibility to the House of Scions.
- Senior Officers always embody and promote the Core Values of Legion of Myth, and seek to continually serve and grow the community membership in accordance with Legion of Myth’s ideals.
- A Senior Officer has the individual authority to act and make decisions on his or her own for the betterment of Legion of Myth.
- Senior Officers always reserve the right to act immediately to any situation at any time, even if a vote or a procedure is normally required. This may only be done in an emergency situation to secure, safeguard, or prevent the loss of organizational information, materials, or personnel. If an emergency action is taken, it must be followed up with the proper vote or procedure.
- Senior Officers have full moderation powers over any Legion of Myth tool or interface, e.g. The LoM website and Ventrilo.
PROMOTION TO SENIOR OFFICER:- Hold the rank of Full Member for a minimum of six (6) months.
- Take on a needed organizational role and responsibility that is meaningful, actionable, and measurable.
- Receive a minimum two-thirds preliminary approval vote from the Senior Officers.
- Receive a minimum two-thirds final approval vote from the House of Scions.
DEMOTION FROM SENIOR OFFICER:- Demoting a Senior Officer requires that the demotion request receives a minimum simple majority preliminary approval vote from the Senior Officers.
- Demotion requires that the demotion request receives a minimum two-thirds final approval vote from the House of Scions.
- A Senior Officer removed in this manner may never again hold the rank of Senior Officer or Guild Leader
- A Senior Officer removed in this manner may be allowed the Membership Rank of Full Member within Legion of Myth, as long as his or her overall membership status within Legion of Myth remains in good standing.
- A Senior Officer may step down or retire from the Senior Officer position.
- A Senior Officer who retires or steps down from the position of Senior Officer may be allowed any subordinate rank as determined by desire, position, and activity levels. A Senior Officer who retires or steps down may never again hold the rank of Senior Officer within Legion of Myth.
SCION DESCRIPTION:Scions are the “Founding Fathers” of Legion of Myth.
Scions are the original founders of Legion of Myth; and in more recent years, those long term and outstanding members who carry on the ideals of the original Legion of Myth founders - MaxLiao, Nafzib, and Rooks. Scions are the ones who have shown the activity and dedication over the years that only a Scion - who has poured money, blood, sweat, and tears into the organization and membership – can fully understand.
Typically there are three Scions at any one time; however, this is not a requirement. As the position of Scion is a lifetime appointment, one should never attain the position of Scion without adequate levels of service and dedication to the overall Legion of Myth organization and membership - measured in years, desire, and dedication. INFORMATIONAL BULLET POINTS:- Scions have full authority and administrative control over every aspect of Legion of Myth.
- In the majority of situations the authority of a Senior Officer and a Scion are equal; however, there are times when the Scions may override or reverse the decision of a Senior Officer.
- Scions always reserve the right to act immediately to any situation at any time, even if a vote or a procedure is normally required. This may only be done in an emergency situation to secure, safeguard, or prevent the loss of organizational information, materials, or personnel. If an emergency action is taken, it must be followed up with the proper vote or procedure.
PROMOTION TO SCION:- No member may be promoted to Scion without spending a bare minimum of eighteen (18) months as a Senior Officer in high standing with both the membership and leadership of Legion of Myth.
- The existing Scions must unanimously agree that a position is open and needs to be filled.
- The existing Scions must unanimously agree to the promotion.
DEMOTION FROM SCION:- A Scion may never be removed from the rank of Scion without the unanimous decision of every other Scion.
- A Scion removed in this manner may never again hold the rank of Scion, Senior Officer, or Guild Leader within Legion of Myth.
- A Scion may step down or retire from the position.
- A Scion who retires or steps down from the position of Scion may be authorized the title Scion Emeritus. The Scion Emeritus retains all reading and posting accesses as if he were a Scion, but he no longer has the ability to cast votes or make policy; it is an advisory position. A Scion Emeritus may never again hold the rank of Scion or Senior Officer within Legion of Myth.
